Here are some Retail Biodiesel Stations

FYI. I found these websites that give you locations of stations sellling BD - various blends. I don't know how up-to-date the lists are, but that's up to the individual station to register and unregister.

Thanks for the list, Stan.

How much bio are you using in your 04?

I almost finished my first tank of BD 100%. However, I would say the tank was B81/B88 because I filled 27.5 gal of BD. Assuming I can only fill the stock tank to 31 gal of #2 (without the aftermarket 'vent kit' to fill the full 34 gal), then I had 3.5 gal of #2 which means B88. Since the filling of BD does not foam like #2, then its possible that I had 6.5 gal of #2 because I filled the BD coming up into the neck.

I changed the stock fuel filter before running the first tank and by this weekend, I'll pull it and check to see if I find any lumps of oil.

I did not notice a loss in power, but I don't jump on the pedal. I think only a dyno test will tell us the real answer (but that's if the BD is made "exactly" the same for every batch - whether commerically bought or home brew). Yes, the exhaust had that hint of oil smell.

I did lose a solid 5% MPG. Whether good or bad, (hopefully) the overhead display of MPG is consistent, which showed the 5% MPG drop. The station near me sells the 99% BD (5/23/08 $4.89/gal). I've read the other threads where folks running 5-20% blend BD have seen an improvement in MPG. Well, since the station sells both BD and #2 maybe I'll try mixing the two (BD first, then #2) in the tank but that may not be the best "blending" process for a B20. As we all know, every truck behaves differently.

Yes, the engine noise was quieter but also the tone is a deeper (which I think the normal pitch of the CTD is on the high side and the lower pitch is not as offensive / easier on the ear).
