Fuel Price Disclosure over the phone
A new gas station opened up on the other side of town from where I live. Up until recently they had the lowest priced diesel around.
I asked one day if I could call them to get their diesel price (I work 15 miles away and don't get off until 11PM, so I would head to the other side of town to fuel up if they were good on price). The lady said it'd be fine.
So, I have checked prices for about a week, and all of a sudden I call yesterday and she goes "I am unable to give that information over the phone"
Something about a law that she couldn't disclose beer or fuel prices over the phone..
Meanwhile the gas station close to my jobs has no problem giving a price over the phone..
What gives?

Hmmm.
They can't speak it over the phone, but they can display it on a 6 foot wide sign 20 feet in the air for all passer by's to see?
I think they may have just got tired of your calls.

I know right, public info on a HUGE sign.. I didn't call very often.. When I meant "for a week" I called like maybe 3 times over the course of the week, and usually spoke to different people. It seems to be just one employee having an issue with it.

I called a place one time about a month ago. Lady said they got diesel but couldnt tell me the price over the phone. Kinda weird if you ask me. Seems like they would want the business.

I even asked her if the price was BELOW $3.49 and she said I can't tell you.

Next time you get that line of "Deja-Moo", politely tell them that you'll have to start buying your fuel from their competitor XYZ station just down the street as they aren't ashamed to advertise their prices.
