Diesel in Mexico?

Anyone know how much Pemex is charging for diesel fuel these days? Pesos per liter? It would also help if that was stated in dollars per gallon.

Same here. My mileage is up about 1 mpg but I have also been doing more around town driving because it is actually cheaper now to drive the truck vs the wifes Acadia.

I read somewhere that PMEX made a $1.5b agreement about 5-10yrs ago w/a refinery near Baytown, Tx. As far as I know most of the diesel comes from the US.

40% comes from the US. Their diesel is as good as ours. They have ULSD and LSD, depending on where you go. Their LSD is better than our ULSD, at leats for all us pre 08. I ahve not read of anybody having any problem with their diesel.

i was talking to one of the atendants in Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) and he said their diesel comes from california.

They do sell ulsd in mexico and my grandfathers new 6.7 had no problems. he will taking his trailer down to Mazatland and back this winter. i told him to pack fuel filters just incase. but so far the ulsd in rocky point is just fine.

i used to make the 140 mile trip to the border when i had my 92 gallon bed tank and it still saved me over 200 bux with acounting for the milage driving there and back. i was headed to fill up the morning after my truck got stolin now im looking for another big tank.

I will be going tp Presidio/OJ at the end of the month. I will bring my 30 gallon drums and stop before crossing and talk to CBP, to see if they have any issue. It seems that each crossing policy is diffrrent. This area is so remote that I doubdt if CBP or Pemex has much issues with what goes on here. I will let you all know in 30 days.
If CBP has issues, I will fill my tank only. I should get an update on the drug wars in Juarez, with some spill over in OJ.

Filling in "55 gal drums" is a no-no. They will make you enter thru a "commercial port" of entry. If you try to enter thru a regular port of entry and they think you are selling, using the fuel in another vehicle, or giving it away, your subject to the $5k fine. When bringing fuel back into the US in that manner your subject to the tax and MUST enter via commercial port. If you have a "tank" that is permanetly mounted to your vehicle and it fuels your vehicle only, then you should be ok, but be prepared to receive the 15-20 questions and for a full search. This info comes directly from a CBP supervisor and I went thru the full vehicle search last month. In addition, if they track you (and yes they can) making several trips to/from your definately going to be "red flagged." Throw some "dog treats" in the bed of the truck and smile.

I believe they now have the authority to seize any/all electronic devices (laptops, harddrives, ipod, etc) so add that to your vehicle cleanout list before you go. JMO, but be wise and don't try to hide ANYTHING.

Here in Juarez, they have stopped filling the aux. tanks It all started as I said before from the people makeing several trips a day or week and getting many hundreds of gallons. Running most all stations very low or out of diesel. Now if you are lucky you can get your stock tank filled but that is all. Some stations have stopped selling to people from the US completely.

The few greedy bast.....idiots, runied it for EVERYBODY!! I am hopeing is calms down soon. I only have about 60 gallons left

Almost no inspection at all from CBP for me.

I have friends that have used all the border crossings in our area. Same story. There is one that is further away but at this point I don't feel like driving that far and do not know for sure if they are the same or not. Hate to drive an hour and a half and get turned around! If things do not get better I may look into trying to get better info from that area. I am sure there are people going there but I don't know anyone personally.
