Mexico!

An acquanitance of mine with dual citizenship (must be nice!) decided he had enough of the USA and moved back to Mexico (leaving all his bills, including his mortgage behind). He showed me his receipts: Pemex charged him 1.78 per gallon in September 07 and 1.98 per gallon in December. (I did the metric conversion so don't tell me I'm confusing litres/gallons).

BTW- he took his 2007 4wd QC2500, a 2007 $22k stock trailer and all the loot from his maxed out credit cards which included a new $6k hydraulic pump for his John Deere backhoe. All items bought NO MONEY DOWN and he only made a couple payments on the truck! he says the truck runs fine on Ultra high sulpher diesel in ol' Mehico!

1 guy just burned US banks/finance companies for $400K- I sure hope there arent alot more guys like him runnin around, might cause a recession or somethin'

A buddy of mine goes to Mexico to get fuel. He has an aftermarket tank with another bed mounted (but removable) 80 gal tank. He pays just over $2.00. My work is going to pay for my a passport and as soon as it happens I will be going also. Just need to get an aux tank to fill to keep the trips down.

BTW he is VERY picky about where he gets his fuel and says he has not had any problems with it.

One good thing about living 20 min. from Mexico

Mexico is an OPEC country and most of them subsidise their oil so it's dirt cheap for their citizens and they don't riot in the streets starting revolutions. As far as the credit card companies and banks go. Serves em right. They'll give a credit card to a dog if you fill one of those junk mail apps out for Fido and send it in. And they make more profit than "evil" oil companies.

Well.....lets hope your friend never needs to move back...because he has basically burned the bridge. Not a good model to emulate IMO

And on edit...he also didn't take his house with him...it will go into foreclosure and get sold off eventually to pay for the mortgage. Again...not a very long term strategy for life in my not so humble opinion on this particular type of topic.

Yep I love it. Some genious at bank of America thought it would be a grand idea to give credit cards to people with no social security number and no US ID. "You've got a Consulado card?" No problemo, heres $2500.00!"

But wait a minute- whats this about the (not)Federal (NO)reserve "injecting capital" into the banking industry? 200 Billion tuesday plus 280 billion today? Who's money is that?

That's right J6P taxpayer, Uncle sam is pointing that finger at you! Because as you know, when banks make money the profits are THEIRS. When they lose money, it's OURS. We're gonna pay dearly for this banking fraud. dearly.
Hope y'all know how to garden...

Although I can understand the OP's friend deciding it was time for a change and a move south I cant condone burning banks and other lenders....Why? Because we pay for it. CC companies have a risk scoring system that can jack rates for anyone at any time for any reason. Next Bank of Amerikka bill I get i will know that .03 cents of my money is going towards another person that didnt pay his bill. If there was no such thing as folks not paying their bills we could all borrow money at half a point over prime.

You're dreaming if you think you'd get credit for a half a point interest with everyone paying their bills on time. They charge whatever rate they want because they can. You pay your phone bill one day late and they hike your credit card rate just because... they can... They take social security checks from little ol widows with dimentia and don't even blink an eye. They make so much money off the honest people who pay up that a few losers taking a hike like doesn't hurt their bottom line one bit. I have no sympathy for credit card companies at all and the banks aren't much better. They're both greedy and along with the government largely responsible for the economic mess we're in right now. I bet that guy could come back to the states apply for a credit card tomorrow and get one... I hope he enjoys the ram and the cheap fuel

The bad thing is, there's hundreds of thousands of duel citizen people doing the same thing, daily! These idiots are also taking our jobs for low hourly rates, putting u.s citizens out on the streets and then stiffing everyone else around them. But can you blame them, with there duel citizen ship the can also vote. And the donkeys will be getting votes in very high numbers from these people.

imo!

That's ok... $1.98/gal... who cares...

I friend of mine was just in Dubai, Driving around in a Hummer H1... With a 50gallon tank. They relized they were about out of fuel and pulled into a local station. Told the guy to fill it up and then afterward gave him thier credit card. They did not accept credit cards, Cash only! After a collective "Oh Crap" they started trying to pool their money together to pay for 50 gallons of fuel... Then the attendent told them the bill was $10!!! They laughed all the way back to their hotel!!!

so yeah.. Dubai... Diesel is $0.20 per gallon!!! Who's getting it???

Please do not use symbols in place of curse words...

Thanks-
madhat
