Diesel hit 3.99
Hey guys , I just filled up this morning and seen 3.99 just outside philadelphia , I could not imagine these guys with truck payment and paying $140 to fill the truck .
My 2 are old 12 valves ...looks like HH oil may be a better way to go with this energy crunch .
I had a vw little truck thing with a 9 gal tank , my buddy owner a oil changing service , he was giving me the ATF ...that stuff ran great , 50/50 of diesel and ATF .
No ones dipping my tank where I am at ...I don't want to hear it ...LOL
I did the whole bio diesel thing , no one seems to want to give up there waste oil ...I think there getting paid for it these days .
What are you guys doing to stay afloat .

4.29 here in Binghamton Making less trips, combining errands, etc etc. I won't give up my truck, though. I've found some 'wasteful' spending in the budget that can be trimmed to make up the difference. Budweiser stock may flounder as a result, though

I finally broke down 3 weeks ago and bought a car for my DD. I'm saving close to $70 a week in gas now. All that money that i'm saving now can go towards the truck in another form other then diesel.

$4 / Gal. Diesel = buy a daily driver
at .60 cents / gal. difference you can pay-off a cheap daily driver in pretty short order (assuming you turn some miles weekly)... it wasn't possible to justify at .20 cent / gal difference, but at .60 cents / gal you should do the math and see if you can save yourself a buck or two.... figure your monthly mileage, add-in additional registration / insurance / maint. / etc. for a daily driver and see what you get.. kinda sad, but at this point my CTD is relegated to plowing / firewood hauling / boat hauling / occasional Orange-Roof run... daily driver for everything else. Last year I drove her every day to / from work. She hasn't left the property this year for the past two months. Just too expensive to use as a daily driver..

Theres a $1 difference between diesel and gas here. I love my truck but traveling 600+ miles a week in the winter and 1000+ during the summer, it was just a smarter choice to buy a small car for my daily driving needs.

I bought a '90 Celica 5 speed. It get's close to 40mpg. Problem is, it falls into a high risk PIP class and insurance is 60 bucks/month. Keeping 2 vehicles on the road is also cost prohibitive. It's actually cheaper to just get in the truck and go.

It's $3.86 round my area.
I thought about buying a little commuter car but I can't justify it yet. I don't realy drive that much as it as and having another vehicle to deal with plus the upkeep would be real impractical.
I just don't understand why? Gas is $3.10 here, why is diesel so much higher?
