The one good thing that these high fuel prices have done for me is. It made me park that new truck in the shop and not drive it. It looks like it will only have 5000 miles on it being a year old. If you look at it that way. I will not be needin a new truck in 07. (not that I wan't one of them smog trucks)

$2.899 here in Mountain Home ID, goto Boise and it is $2.859. Just not enough difference to make the drive worth while. Hard to believe the last time i filled up it was $3.399. With my luck all out war will break out and it will jump up to $5 before pay day.

$2.43-$2.46 non higher here in Tupelo, MS. I regularly make trips into Memphis, TN where the low is at FlyingJ @ $2.34/gal. Even there in Memphis I seen a few still at $2.89. My question is for thse places how do they ever intent to sell there fuel when just a mile or 2 down the road a station has it for 40 cents less???
I was driving through there the other day and couldn't help myself when I saw someone filling up at one of the higher proced stations. Poor guy got ticked off when I told him just a few miles away he could save 50 cents. He then said, "well I don't like that FlyingJ fuel anyways". I told him that all the diesel in the metro area of memphis comes from one of just 3 suppliers regardless of brand. My company (Ergon/Lion OIl), Exxon, or Premcor. He got a puzzled look on his face andstopped pumping, and asked if I was serious.
There are a few differences (but not much) in the blends of gasoline with proprietary detergents, but non whatsoever in diesel refining. Unless for lubricity in the new ULSD it has a 1-4% bio blend that doesn't have to be labeled as such. Retailers only have to advertise as bio if the blend is 5% or higher.
