Holy Moly! You guys are getting hit hard. Today it went from $2.999 to $3.049 at the cheapest station in town. None of the other filling stations have changed. That's as of this evening. I hope it stays that way for a while here.

Here in GA I left on Wednesday driving to Gainesville FL. I filled up for $2.62. When I returned Thursday afternoon it was $3.59.

GA is saying it's due to heavier demands by the farmers, that it is harvesting time. Now I am not a major farmer but my little garden spot has been tilled under for almost a month, so has all of the big farms around here. Maybe it could be reprucsions from the harvest?

$2.68/gal yesterday, $3.499 today

Plenty refineries intown, rumors from workers at refineries: Gas will match or beat diesel prices anyday now...

Co-worker is a farmer and today he got a phonecall informing him he finally got his 1500 gal load of red diesel delivered for his tractors(a week late).. Supplier grudgingly let him have it for $2.58/gal.

This oughta give the whole country's economy a serious kick in the gut.

Semis and dump trucks often fill up at the gas station where I buy diesel because the price is usually 5 to 20 cents per gallon less than nearby stations.

It doesn't make me real happy when a semi is getting 100 gallons or whatever and I end up waiting 20 minutes to fill up. They only have two pumps for diesel and there are often lines for diesel. I have complained to the manager and they say a request has been made to corporate for more diesel pumps.

The closest station to my house went from 2.89 this morning to 3.58 when I came home.

I guess I'm just gonna start buying in bulk from the biodiesel plant, who is still at 2.85.

Cool

It's getting worse. Couldn't believe that over one day diesel goes up 40 cents.

I hope we have a warm winter b/c if we don't the demand will be high for diesel/heating oil and the market price will go up even higher.

I may be looking at getting a cold weather suit for my motorcycle...brrrr...

I have a dream...that the truckers will strike because they can't pay to haul the goods and the outcry from lack of products will force those in charge of the oil industry will quit screwing us just because they can.

Locals here want $3.39 glad I've been working around the house and haven't had to drive.

Truckers won't strike since their able to add a fuel surcharge.

Just read in the Houston Chronicle that the big BP refinery in Texas City will remain closed until improvements are made. No timeline for the restart. It's only the 3rd largest refinery in the US with a capacity of 460,000 barrels a day production.
With a shortage of diesel, heating oil and jet fuel in the US due to refinery shutdowns along the gulf coast it's going to be a long winter. I wouldn't be suprised if diesel hits $4 a gallon.

I still don't know why diesel fuel is more expensive than regular fuel. As far as I know it is the byproduct of the other fuel. Basically the skim off the top of the milk. I would say that the oil industry is trying to make up its losses from the farmers who were waiting until the prices went down to harvest. Obviously that idea was a bad one.
