Add hydrogen for better mpg

Well I done did it.. Hydrogen peroxide 3% in my H cell didn't seem to make any big difference so far. I only drove maybe 50mi. I did set my timeing back about 11/2 deg, that makes the motor sound different at idle.
After I've tried this for a while then I'll get some stronger stuff.

Do a search on tone ring that's how I'm adjusting it. I had to bump the timeing back up it wasn't a problem. So far can't tell any difference. Kind of hard to tell though since I pull a trailer off and on every day to multiple locations.
Thanks. Weather has to improve eventually and will be starting some testing on my truck.
One other question. There was a reference that too much hydrogen is forcing out the available oxygen and reducing efficiency. From the volume of air being drawn into the engine under cruising speed and the relatively small amount of HHO we can generate this didn't make sense to me. Could it be more of a timing issue with pre-ignition fighting the stroke to reduce mileage. Sorry if this was answered before.
Also, there was an interesting article on some new electrodes that will be coming out to improve electrolysis efficiency. More targeted for hydrogen fuel cells, but might be interesting in our applications. Not sure if they are available or how expensive yet.

ya i had touched on that, and your right, pre-ignition is the problem, timeing is off with to much HHO, if you want to go through all the trouble it tune the timing and the output of the system you could really see some gains but im not at that point yet.
sorry want to just clarify what i ment, its really not pre-ignition, sence theres nothing to really ignite the HHO thats not what it is, its that when the diesel ignites the HHO will ignite, it burns way faster then diesel so it makes the diesel burn to fast, im having to learn alot more about these motors to figer out how to really make this work well

I am new to the forum, but have been lying in the weeds here for a couple months. I have been reading and digesting what has and is happening and reading all the side links folks have found.
I have been a Diesel Wrench for the past 30 years and my present employment is with a fleet that has 125 Cummins ISC, ISL, and the lovely new 6.7 B models, we also have 80 - 50 series along with 6v-92 Detroit’s.
Fist off I am an MPG freak and hve personally owned nothing but diesels. I started playing around with different things over the years to try and increase mileage, most of which is hocus pocus. Last summer I started dabbling in LP gas, specifically enrichment for MPG, very similar to your HHO testing. After reading about LP gas and what affect it has for power on diesels and the claims for increased mileage, I decided $600.00-$700.00 was too much money for something I could build myself, so I searched Ebay for some parts and was able to build one for less than a $100.00 and it works great.
From what I am reading in this thread and what I have found with LP gas, I must say the test results are very much parallel to one another. Specifically I have found that less is better for MPG. This has baffled me and reading your post about retarding the timing I found quite interesting. This is something easy enough to do and will not hurt the engine at all. I am waiting for the weather to break so I can start playing around with this theory, I will at the moment stay with LP gas since I have it setup and it appears to have the same affect on the engine as HHO. My cousin works at a stainless trailer factory, so I need to meet with him and get some scrap metal to make my own HHO generator.
I just want to add the theory about flooding the engine with too much HHO is something you don’t have to worry about. If you remember the benefits of a turbo to an engine in the mountains, you can apply the same theory to this also. I am sorry this is such a long read and I hope you don’t think I am hi-jacking the thread by mentioning my LP gas findings. Keep up the work, I know you have been working at this a while.

Hey im new here, but there is a company named SAE Energy that is developing a kit for hydrogen use on diesels, here is a concept truck using it. http://www.galpinautosports.com/gallery.php
I would just be a little worried about if someone was in a wreck with a big bottle of hydrogen like that. I know that you can produce the hydrogen via electrolosis at you house, but I wonder how you would safely compress it so you could make your own hydrogen and fill up your truck yourself. I used to play paintball so I do know that you can buy a booster to compress gas into a tank up to 4500 psi, but I dont know if this would be very safe with a flamable gas. Also SAE didnt say what the pressure regulated out of the tanks would be, I wonder if it is low enough if you could make an on board electrolosis hydrogen generator and creat enough pressure with it to make the system work without the tanks. I know some of you have calculated how much hho you can make per min, but what about how much psi you can build up in the container, and sustain it.

ok im not seeing much resurch on these, hho/hydrogen cant be used just like propain, its a different gas with way different properties, whith the systems we are already building you can allready make to much hho the only real benifit that i know of is it would be easyer to regulate it but the risk of having a tank like that is to much for me. hho makes diesel burn faster, to much and it burns to fast then you have to start messing with the timing to get it to work right and with a diesel sence its the diesel ignition that causes the hho ignition timing gets really tricky. just dont see a real reason to cary a tank. thats my .02, and yes i have been doing the reserch for those that are new.
I'm interested in trying the HHO method and kind of understand it an the electrolysis stuff. Sounds pretty simple. But this thread is huge. I think all of the brainstorming and knowledge is neat, but after reading about 15 pages I have 3 questions:
1. Does it work for better mpg's?
2. Is anyone using it right now?
3. How do I do it? I know how the homemade hydrogen pump works, but how/where does that integrate into the engine.
