200 Gallons of Fun!

A picture of my latest biodiesel reactor design..

200 Gallons
*Auto shut down
*Drain safety interlock
*100 GPM 316 Casted stainless pump
*Vacuum Dewater
*Vacuum Methanol Recovery
*Self load by vacuum suction
*Nema12 oil and dust tight control panel with door seal
*Digital PID Temperature control

Yes.. I do all my own welding. And pipe fitting, and electrical, and sweep the floor.. LOL

It can do a 150 gallon batch... Several batches per day depending on how it's set up.. I only need to do 1 batch per day.


I'll be selling it soon and will be drawing up plans for others to copy it also..

Cost per gallon to make biodiesel is around 80 cents right now.. It was up to $1.05 earlier this year but is falling fast.

Ingredients are methanol, lye and any kind of new or used vegetable oil or tallow (animal fat).

Its an easy process if you set up the equipment correctly...

You can recover methanol with any unit capable of withstanding a vacuum.. However, I find that I can recover both methanol and excess catylist by mixing the glycerin into the raw incoming oil supply.. Seems to be better than recovering it..
