No start.
As you can see in my signature I have an 03 Cummins in an 01 Ford. First cold morning in Denver today. I decide to start it and let I warm up. Turn the key nothin. Turn it again nothin. Get out of the truck and see smoke coming out of the engine compartment. Turns out the 12ga. Red wire coming from the starter to the solenoid is toasted most of the cover has burned off. I replaced the starter. The 12ga. wire is now new with a 30 amp fuse . Still nothing when I turn the key. The volt meter on the dash drops, but not to zero. What am i missing?

Got it started
batteries were both at 12.67 volts. Just for grins I put a charger on it and waited. Started right up.
