Could this work?

On my Excursion I have a 97 CTD with the 47RE behind it mated to the Ford transfer case. The one issue I now have is I have no VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) going to the Dodge PCM because that signal used to come from the Dodge transfer case. I don't think the tranny shifts as good as it could and my grid heaters don't shut off after going over 10 mph. Has anyone got this to work?
I was looking at this:
http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd126.htm

In my Dodge service manual it states that the VSS generates 8 pulses per sensor revolution. How does this translate into ppm(pulse per mile)? and how do I find out how many ppm the Ford VSS puts out?
