Been forever since i gave an update: Ive broke a whole pile of parts since then that i wont even get in to, but since the sheared pinion shaft last week got replaced with a Strage Pro Gear i think and hope that was the last weak link in the system. I think last i talked here i was in the 6.8x range, i ran a pile of 6.2's today out at Redline, since its picked up this much the gear is wrong again, she's gear bound now at 107 prob. around 500 feet down track. She now hicks up the front end and carrys the tires 8-10 inches and sets them down somewhere out past the 60'. Would have never thought the truck would have gone this fast! For those that followed this build in the beg. my end goal was to Try to someday get in the 6's with it what ever it took, today was the first time i ever did on just diesel fuel. After many runs and LOTS of tuning i finally got a 6.91 at 98.12 on diesel fuel only, then on a very concervitive small jet went a 6.47, it upped it a tad more and went in the
6.2x's very concistant. I feel it now has high 5's in it with just a little more, im know where near cleaning up my fuel so.....
Its the same ol stuff just lots of tuning, weight cut here and there and weight transfer. Made it over to the Dr. P race that ended up getting cacelled, and was invited back to their shop for a free dyno pull or 2, got there and it wouldnt fit on thier dyno? Thiers or the other 2 or 3 places that ive called with my tire and axle specs and measurments. Oh well. Not to worried what its making, but its enough, im very happy still with the truck and glad i didnt abandon the project back in the beginning when it looked like id never get a tranny or convertor to work! Look out 5's, how many other diesel powered pick ups are there out there running these times?? I heard that the green 1/2 ton "Stuckie" truck went a 5.99 and then a 5.94 not very long ago, are there others? Just curious, still just having a blast with it in the 1/8th mile.
