5.9 12v '02 Excursion tachometer
I have the wiring schematics for the '04 CR engines and for the 1999 Ford Super Duty.
I have the tone ring and autometer pick up from Scott at Destroked. It worked great for about two weeks now it jumps around, and I have adjusted it more than a handful of times. I also had to modified it a little because my fan would scrape it sometimes. He has a new tach kit that hooks into the crank sensor that looks to be a million times better, but I haven't tried it yet.

I'm thinking I can't use it on my 12v because it uses a completely different crank sensor setup (2 pulses per revolution), and the '02 and up fords don't have an aux tach input. like the '01s and older seem to.
Did you get any where with this? I have a 12v in a 2000 Excursion that was a gasser 5.4 l before I bought it doen but I'm redoing a bunch of electrical problems. the previous owner has the harmonic balancer cut with 4 notches and a tach sensor is mounted that redos this. I think its the stock ford sensor. I can take some pictures if you'd like etc... Let Me know
