Only saw one first gen running the quarter. W250, CC, clean and all stock looking and had an Auto. 19.90's, thought i would see more. Annoucer was definitely a cummins man :-) .
Duramax's ruled the quarter mile though.
I could hear those allisons slipping from the grandstands though.
Many Fords doing the turbo cough too.
Since I've always been a 73-87 Chevy fan(not the diesels though) SO I had to root for the 84 Chevy SWB truck that had a cummins 4BT in it. very nicely done and ran low 15's. made it to the semi-s so i'm sure he went home with some cash.
I was impressed with how many stick shift Dodges I saw trying to row their way down the quarter mile. MAYBE my 91 next year.
