Tire suggestions for pulling

What seems to be the most popular tire and size for pulling. I don't necessarily need them for daily driving. My Bridgestone Dueler Revos just don't cut into the track enough to bite and I'd like to try more pulls. I think I have the power, I just can't get it to the ground. I'm running 4/10 gears and run 4 Lo when pulling. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks. Paul

Depends on the track and the traction needed. I've seen anything from BFG AT's to superswamper boggers.

Are you sure you don't need more weight?

Weight would definitely help too. I'm at 7150 with a full tank of fuel. I've got a pull coming up Saturday night and will try and max out with the weight. I've looked at the Cooper Discover SST and the BFG AT. I'm willing to keep these just for pulling and swap tires when necessary. It seems like alot of variables with track conditions, weight, etc., but there ought to be a few tires out there better than others for a looser track. Keep the suggestions coming.

ive heard the pro comp Xtreme all terrains work well from another puller. pretty aggressive tread, but not so aggressive that it will grab too much and break things. ill let you know more after july 29th...that'll be my first hook, and i have 35" XAT's

All good points from above. I also admit a great deal of inexperience. The first pull was on hard pack dirt that didn't tear up. There was no tire spin and no dirt dug up, just good traction. The next time a much softer track well dampened. Seemed like those doing well had more aggressive treads. I know that I have the power no to get to enough pulls and try a few things. I just don't want to have to buy too many sets of tires (my wife will understand one extra set but may find two hard to explain).

You can't go wrong with a BFG AT. I would do size 305/70R16 or 285/75R16. I went with 315 Pro Comp muds and they are just a bit too aggressive, they get a little too much bite.

Stick with a 33" tire, FULL mud terrains are usually too aggressive around here unless they are half wore out.
You might look into: Mickey Thompson MTX, Pro Comp AT's, Pro Comp Extreme AT's, Goodyear MTR's, Cooper STT's, SuperSwamper TRXUS, BFG AT KO's.
Also best all around price for any kind of tire I have found is on ebay hands down.

Thanks guys. I'm getting about 1000 lbs of suitcase weights from my brother-in-law and will try to get to a tire shop tomorrow. Pull is Saturday night. Yes, I think I'm hooked. No onto breaking things.

super swamper trxus or the cooper discoverer S/T. i have both and no matter the track they both work better than any mud tire i've ever used or seen used. but there's more than tire like everyone else said and weight makes a difference, but there are a few more very very important things that need to be taken into account.
