Yes.. we are planning on going.. we need to do some work to the truck after we lost some oil lines in Stephenville.. but nothing major...

I didn't know what was on the gray truck.... Knowing Zack.. I figured it was a twin charger truck.... The 66 would be in the 2.8 class.. the other would be bigger, unless it was sleeved to 2.8... but I would NOT (Edit) worry about a sleeve until some rules are set... If they say single charge.. it will fit in the class...

Ok guys what's the deal with this street diesel class, is this the only class or will there be a work, street, modified, or what??? And what about the heavy trucks that just want to pull, but can't make the weight...I'll give ya example this last weekend we had two trucks over weight but we both won, so then what????

So if they are going by the DHRA street rules then trucks with no driveshaft loops will be allowed to pull? That will seriously cut down on the number of trucks pulling.

All I know is, I am going to show up with just enough fuel in my tank to make a couple of pulls....and a 5 gallon can of fuel to make it back to civilization on. I am going to also have to take everything that I can off and out of my truck to make 8,000#. Sure would be nice to have the weight bumped up to 8,500#

Hey guys, just saw that there might be some questions that I could answer...
As for Deleon- TTTPA will be sanctioning one Diesel truck class. I'm sure that the folks putting the pull on, will have a "run what ya brung" class. TTTPA is sanctioning all the classes that we usually run, one of which is now a diesel pickup class. While presently, it may not be that big of a deal to run in a TTTPA sanctioned class, we are hoping to change that for the 2008 season. It is my hope that we will have a points system in place that will honor pullers for their hard work and competitive spirit, by 2008.
As for the drive line loops- TTTPA is currently running DHRA rules for that class, with a few adjustments, i.e., no hanging weights. In the DHRA rules, it states that pullers will be allowed a one event waiver for lack of drive line loops. We (I) do not encourage this. TTTPA is all about safety of the driver and spectator. I should note, at this point, that TTTPA members/participants must wear a D.O.T. approved helmet. We will possibly be requiring all drivers to wear fire suits (just a heads up) for the 2008 pulling season and fire extinguishers should be in all vehicles.
I realize that there are some issues with the 8000# weight limit, especially for the MegaCab trucks. There may need to be some adjustment made. Our members generate the rules. Anyone that is a member, and has pulled with us this year, will have a right to vote this year at the rules meeting. It is my hope that next year we will be running the DHRA Super Street class trucks in our line-up. Hopefully this will encourage those with the really hot trucks to come pull with us. Ideally, I would like to see trucks that showed up to pulls on a trailer. I'm not trying to take anything away from the guys that drive their's on the street... ( I'm sure they would spank my Duramax) I'm just wanting to see several really awesome trucks out there and seperate those that are REALLY serious from those that are daily drivers. We want to give those folks a place to go pull for a descent purse and a sanctioning body to stand behind them. This may be a few years in the making or may be just a pipe dream... participation will tell...
All that being said, we encourage all pullers with a serious interest in pulling (and safety) to come join in the fun. Together, I feel like we can make this the best pulling association in the southwest.
I would also like to thank the guys that showed up at Boyd. I realize that some of you did not make the weight, but we were certainly happy to see you there and appreciate your participation. I glad to hear that you liked the sled. (I know it had its problems at the Deleon in August) That sled will be undergoing even more changes this winter. The owner of that sled is dedicated to making it work and pull as close to an Ironman sled as possible. (so we can all go fast!)
If I can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to call or email.

Thank you
David Templeton

Yes. Only one class. We might, eventually, be able to run two. Most promoters want a 3 to 4 hour maximum for show length. There would be no way to run several more classes and accomplish this. Promoters may choose to run more pickup classes after the main show. That is when you get into the "what rules are they running there" and is why TTTPA will be sanctioning one class. Each puller will know, well in advance what the rules will be for the year. As is done for all the other classes, we provide the rules and vehicles are built to fit those rules. Hopefully, by the 2009 season, the rules for this class will be ironed out and the same rules will stay in effect for several years to come with only minor changes. That way pullers can build something that will fit the rules for several years without having to make radical changes each year. Its not perfect, but hopefully its a place to start.

So what about guys running twin turbos? Are they not even allowed to pull?
It's no big deal if they arent allowed, but I just want to know before we drive 2 hours for nothing.

It's going to be extremely difficult for my 6300 pound truck to be competitive with your revised DHRA rules excluding hanging weights. It really makes me wonder why you keep the entire set of DHRA rules except for that one when all of your 4wd gas trucks hang weight?

If you guys are wanting serious trucks that are trailered and putting out major power to pull with the tractors to keep the crowd interested, then there should be no reason why we can't run hainging weights. heck they need to weigh 8000lbs to be competive right..If the weights are secure what does it matter. I know my truck like others need weight on the front...

Guys, also needed to know for duramax's (ya I know) that if they dont have weights the front end comes into lots of pieces Cool to see sucks for safety since they fly out, if concerned with safety I agree on the weights, I have a two wheel drive truck so no nevermind for me. Duramaxs are strong and can pull right up there with the BIG guys so this to be fair and all please consider. I am not bias or anything just some guys talked to a couple of people about the pull with dmax and said no hangin weights no come... so there is a huge oppurtunity here, have one class thats open and let'em rip JMO and like I said no BIAS here drive a dodge... (for a reason hahaha) but all diesels are just that DIESEL.
