stock truck pull

So, thought about jumpin in a truck pull this week and though i would just get some insite to how a 100% stock truck will do. I myself not too worried about breaking anything as the tires are even stock so as far as drive trains and what not im sure the tires will spin in the dirt before anything breaks. I dont plan on hopping at the end either ( silly people) Just kind of for fun but thoughti would get some tips on the take off as ive never done it. Maybe some thoughts on what most do for a distance stock. Thanks

My buddy got 3rd place at a pull with his stock 06 dually 6 speed. Think he pulled in 3rd. Just dont wind it up too much taking off. You will have to come out of the hole easy with a stock clutch.

Got my first and only full pull when it was stock including my tires. I think it was a set up though. The more I spend the heavier the sled gets.

Get the sled moving then put the juicde to her. My friend has been using his stock tranny now this year till the built one gets in. He has an edge, mp-8, and water. The edge doesn't show to much slip or none yet. If you are pullin agaainst totally stock trucks like yours you will do ok. If any one so much as has a downloader, or any box and pulls against you it won't look good with the distance difference. Just my .02C

What's he run the edge and mp-8 on while pullin? I don't want to run too hot. I don't have water like him though so I guess it won't be a good example. Any body have any suggestions? If i get home in time for the local pull this weekend i might go for it for s&g's.
