Pulled thursday!

Me and my brother decided to pull thursday night in the local fair. Results were

1st. 2005 Ford 6.0 quadcab harley davidson addition, stock except for 1000lbs of extra weight. weighed in at 8735, pulled 276.

2nd. Me in a 2001 CTD, Stock clutch, intake, and edge comp. weighed in at 6850 LBS, pulled 274.

3rd. 2001 CTD, he says it has a DD clutch????, 300 hp injectors?????, 20-135 hp chip???? NO FUEL UPGRADE, and stacks. weighed in at 6600, pulled 271.

4th. Brother in 2005 CTD, edge juice with attitude everything else is stock. weighed in at 7700, pulled 259.

I was pretty happy with my results since i do have a stock clutch, but was ****** off that the ford beat me by 2 feet. I pulled in 3rd low, brother also pulled in 3rd low

Ford,

stock except for the weight? seriously, does it really make that much of a difference? i cant believe it outpulled a truck with that much more power on it..

yes weight can make a big difference. Anyone can have all power but if they can get it into the ground then they will do the same as a guy with half of his power. (spin on top the ground). That obviously isnt all there is to but it is a considerable factor

your brother(if it's an auto) should be able to outpull the ford..... if he builds some boost and keeps his rpm(wheel speed) up he can outpull that 'stock' Ford.

Was the ford a long wheel base four door, length makes alot of difference in the tranfer of weight.

Yes it was a long wheel base 4door, but my brothers truck is a short wheel base 4door and his is a 6 speed. I think he would of beat him if he pulled in 4th low but he did not want to slip his stock clutch that much. I have to admit that is the best running ford I have seen though. A couple of my buddies with fords didn't come close to us one with a 2003 6.0 with bully dog power pup turned all the way up pulled 231 then a 96 ford 7.3 with the edge ez, intake, and diablo chip pulled 236 and one with the superchips programer pulled only 150 I guess he went with to high of gear. No other ford really came anywhere near close to the sompetion just the one and the other fords had chips which made me beleive that this guys new 6.0 is one of the few fords that runs good. But Dodges took 2nd-8th one ford in first and then 9th-13th was all fords so I would say that all in all dodge is gonna be a better buy.

I saw a guy try four low once with a stock clutch, wasn't much left when he finally got out of it. The truck never spun a tire. That long ford would be hard to beat if he has any tires on it. I pulled against some fords once with my dually, they run out of power but I ran out of traction. A couple of them put about 5 to 8 feet on me. I think I might try locking the convertor this year but the old 97 doesn't have alot of tire on it.
