my 1/4 mile time sucks!

Ok iv got a 06 mega cab 6 speed with with 275's on 18" wheels, a 3850# south bend DD, smarty with 4.11 aft.turbo/ stock injectors, and scwitzer 66mm turbo wastegated to around 47-48lbs of boost.

What was i doing wrong, i ran 3 times, the first time i ran in 2wd and smoked the tires forever but then what can i expect bcuz i dumped the clutch in 3rd... once i finally caught traction i just kinda eased the rest of the way and coasted to like a 21, so the next time i dumped it in 3rd again but this time in 4wd, still spun all 4 for atleast 60' or so but the turbo didnt wanna stay spooled when i hit 5th it took forever for it to light again, run a 16.4 that time, so i was really startin to get ****** so i went back one more time but i knew a had to try somethin differnt so i tached it up to about 2 grand and dumped it in 2nd this time still 4wd, still spun a little but not as bad, that time i ran a 14.9, i did come off the throttle between shifts but still probably wouldnt have made a differnce, either way im really disappointed with the whole deal i was hoping for atleast low 14's but oh well. maybe im just being hard on myself but it gets to me when iv seen some guys around here with nothin but maybe a crazy larry tune run low 14's but then again mine is really set up more for pullin with the dd and i dont really know much about my turbo cept its a 66mm it comes off my friends pulling truck, so its probably not the best for drag racing, but who knows, hopefully it'll do better on the pulling track...

it's pretty hard to row the gears to get a good et,I also have a stick that I pulled with & have raced a few cars & it's hard to shift quick enough & on my 5 spd it's easy to miss 3rd
I did manage to beat a hopped up S-10 w/a I think 377 cu in motor 3 outta 5x
I'd change to an auto if a built one wasn't so much $$

Yeah, what you have to realize is that if it were an auto, that 14.9 would probably be a 13.9. Is that with sw9 loaded? Do you have any fuel upgrades - lift pump, etc.? If not, it may have actually been faster on sw7. SW9 demands a lot of fuel and if your lift pump is week at all, it won't keep up.

I would just about say your right now that i really set down and think about it, i dont have any kind of fuel system... i just went and loaded up sw7 instead of 9 that i was running and at WOT i think even sw7 is still being starved for fuel a little, with 9 at WOT there wasnt much smoke at all, now with 7 i layed in it a few times and there is a bit more smoke all the time, but then it will belch out a lot for a second then quit a proceed to keep on going from a lot then to just a haze... thats all while accerating im not talkin about from take off.

You need to work on the launch and row with authority! I ran 13.89 with Hot juice and a MP-8 at 50% on a weak 2nd gear launch. Take out all added weight you can. Spare tire and the tailgate will get you a tenth or two. Believe it or not, folding in the mirrors gave me a little higher MPH on the top end. Now I have the turbo, Smarty etc. I cant wait until this weekend to see what I can do.

Just for comparison, my buddy with just a Juice/attitude in a stock (except for box) 01 D-Max runs mid 14's. That sucks when you put all that stuff into your truck and run high 14's. At least you know you can pull a house down the road if you want
