It was another great event. They had a ton of top tractors there. Loved seeing the Deutz compete, and the Allis. Makes it better that NFMS that way.

Was that the silver tractor that would not run right when pulling the sled?
There would have been more if they ran a street stock class, more then one brand would have been nice too.

Yes it was. They have been working on it recently and are beginning to learn the tractor. Like the announcer said, they need to call overseas and talk to the Valtra pulling team about what to do. Over there the Valtra is tearing things up. Of course its a different set of rules and the same name classes are different in technical stuff.

Yes more trucks would be nice. LAst year had a few in there, but I do think lots of guys are still working on their rigs, and some are heading to Tn. this weekend.

That short older Ford 9000 tractor was running real good. I liked the propane tractor a well as the two Deutz powered tractors too.

VALTRA!!! Over here!! AWESOME!!!

I was at the Valtra Engine plant in July (Finland) I got to talking to them about pulling

They are using the 451 Cu In version (7.4L) engine for a base, and have now reached 2500HP on the STOCK BOTTOM END Wicked Engines!!

I've also never seen a Deutz pull around here either That would have to be wild if it's running right. Another awesome engine

Well, I've got to chime in on the Valtra! This guys shop is about a mile from my house and I went to school with him. Some of the guys that have pulled for years helped him late last summer to get it where it would move the sled and make middle of the pack pulls. They messed with this winter and put it right back to not being able to move the sled again. Don't hold out much hope for it unless they get someone who has ever pulled a tractor to help them and listen to what it needs. None of them has ever pulled a tractor of any kind before last spring. Heck, when a 9500lb. tractor won't even move the sled in the 6500lb. class it needs some help!

When you are trying things out stuff like that happens. That tractor is going to be awesome as soon as they figure some things out. One of the guys supplying parts for this tractor has a lot of knowledge and they are trying to get it figured out. Becides if they have never drove a tractor before that could be part of it.

It is a learning curve and believe me you START AT THE BOTTOM and no one else is going to help them. They other guys they pull against most likely will not help them.

I have asked many knowledgeable people last season about certain things and when they finally realize i am pulling against them then their mouth goes shut.

It really make me laugh when some people think that you can just run out there and jump on something that you put gobbs of money in and just start winning especially when you are trying to be different(hell that takes ***** just to be different). It takes many years and lots of experience to just start being competitive. These guys will eventually come thru (as long as they stick with it) and they will start winning.

Hey Travis,
As always nice talkin' to ya, need to hook up a little longer next time though.

Hey Jared,
Did I see countrygirl in the pedal pulls?
I seen you over that way taking pics.

One of the guys who he pulls against spent several nights working on it for free just so they could pull the sled. When you stick several plungers wouldn't you maybe try a different pump builder. They have a bad case of tinkeridest, you can't change a hole bunch of things at one time and get any base line to run by. They might stumble into the right combo but you can't do it by making several hooks in the same gear with the same combo on the same night . I do wish them all the luck in the world but it might take more than luck.

Yes she wanted to try. She pulled it 48 ft and 421 lbs. She competed against 21 guys and took home 6th. No other girls tried. She is tough.

Good seeing everyone there as well.

Man the Valtra is a welcome edition to the sport. It will take time and determination. Like Chris said, you just diont build it and win. It takes time and a big learning curve. Like I said, if they ask what the Valtra guys in England are doing, they will have some direction to move in.

The Deutz was kicking butt. Unbelievable pulling tractor from New York.
