Guy that pulls gas asked me a ?

Guy I know pulls in the 6200 street stock 2 class, 8500rpms ish

He went to cloverdale and blew his rear and was askin me if a dana 80 would do as he's lookin for sumthin with a 4.10 ratio to get his speed right.

Alot of people told him that they wouldn't hold but gave no reason why, and I was wondering why, the only thing I could think of would be the harmonics due to the RPM, just thought I'd see what everybodys thoughts are.

Thanks Bryan

I do not see why you can't use a dana 80 with a gas motor. VERY stout diffs and some regs I read is that you cannot use anything bigger than that.

The problum is the Dana 80 is Heavy and it puts the weight in the rear of the truck, not exactly where you want to add weight.

Strength would not be a problum.

I doubt his wheel speed is faster to the point it will develop harmonic problems in the driveline.
