good high power clutch, south bend.
I only had about 750 miles on it at that point though, and haven't been in that situation again since.
P.J. yea i went with the south bend single disk con fe. Thier high but i would'nt complain prob. after hearing prices on dd. At my power level whatever that is, and the driving i do the fe is overkill. But thats the way i want it, i want to be able to lean on it and not worry. If there was a chance of hooking to a sled like many of you do it be diff. but theres not much of that dont here in tx that i now of. The occ. trip down the 1/8 mile and lots of punishing those fords and chevys on the street. he he
I run a 3850 with the 24 feramic buttons in my truck and while I don't like the fact that it's a manual trans in the first place, the clutch is amazing.
I have fried it with 4wd launches in 3rd gear probably 50 times and who know how many the PO did. It still has plenty of meat left in it, just the iron parts are a little purple now . . .
I broke the cluster gear, which is the only reason that I removed it.
It's a little grabby now, but that's just because it's a little bit fried. The pedal effort honestly does not seem much different from my stock 2.8L S10.

Hope you don't plan on too many trips down the track. I took care of an FE already then Peter sent me something different.
Who makes a quick shifting dual disk? Is Haisleys Street Drag the only one?

GLHS, seeing that the clutch is rated 100hp more than the power in your sig id say you got a bad one or you have bad driving habits. I got mine put in sat. it will hold the power but its noisey as heck idleing in neutral, push in the clutch OR come off idle and its normal. Little grabby but it does hold the power i think im in the 480-500 range right now.
that's what i am wondering lloyd. isnt the reason a dd is loud is because of the center disc chattering?
the only reason a single should chatter is the TO or pilot is not installed correctly or faulty
