First time at the track!!

I just got back from Bandimere here in Colorado, it was the "take it to the track night." It was awesome, never raced before, got there late and ran once, but I got a 17.921 with a R/T of .124. I know I can get better, but happy for the first go around.
It was mostly Ferds here, one other Cummins, but he ran a ~14 and wooped them

Does that time seem about right for my setup? I was wondering if the clutch could have slipped at all, I didn't feel anything obvious though.

One more, with a 5spd, how do you guys launch? I dropped it from like 2600 in 2nd.

Can't wait to go back!

No I tried 2H first, had a little wheel hop I guess no burnout, so guess I can try 4H next time and launch from a little higher RPM?

Are there recomendations for launching the 5spd in my set up? Does the time seem about right? I thought it was slow

That sounds pretty close to what it oughta be. You need to put a drag comp with some injectors in that bad boy. I always put mine in 4hi 2nd gear and I would rev it up to about 2500 and let it out slow at first until you hear that turbo start to spool and then let it out a little faster until it fully grabs. If you had a good clutch you could probably launch like that in 3rd. Your stock clutch won't take many boosted launches like that though.
Yeah you gotta run in 4wd to get these trucks to leave right.

Those times don't sound too bad for a manual truck and being at high altitude. From what I've heard, Bandimere is a horrible track for getting fast times.

What was your 60' time and MPH?

60' was 2.762 and 79.25 MPH

What's the difference between the edge comp and drag comp? I see the gains are the same 120hp and 350tq at level 5, adjustability is different?

I would be weary of a 4x4 launch in 3rd on a single disk. Good way to weld it all up.

Next time I go I will have an edge comp on it, I will try the 4x4 launch, but in 2nd, I will be upgrading the clutch shortly. Thanks for the input, can't wait to beat those Ferds!

Good luck man!

Also, even if you upgrade to something like a South Bend you won't be immune to the chances of welding it up in 3rd. Believe me, I know.

That MPH sounds real good. If you can get your 60' down to the sub 2 second range you should be running 16s easily.

A set of track bars for the rear would help with the hop. Good looking truck

The drag comp fuels to 3200 rpm and the regular comp fuels to 2700 rpm. The drag comp feels much stronger even though it isn't supposed to gain any power. My old 01 ran much better with the drag upgrade.
