First Time On A Dyno

This coming weekend I plan on putting my truck on a dyno thuis weekend for the first time. Now like the title states, I've never been on a dyno before. So I was just wondering what the proper procedure is. Do I just run up throught the gears while giving it an soft touch on the skinny peddle then hit it hard after I'm in top gear? Or do I just get on the skinny peddle hard from the get go?

No sure. I just know it'll be in Oceanside, Ca. for the Lorenz Industries / McMillin Racing Wrench / Dyno / Movie Premier Day this saturday 5/05/07. Does the type of dyno matter?
