Finally, I can compete without being way too light!
I got these last night...my last pull of the year I was 1100lbs under the limit...now I can finally meet the weight limits!

I just welded about 8 inch piece of 2 1/4 box to each of my frame horns and then made a bracket with 2 inch box to slide into the 2 1/4. worked well so far and I usually put 1,000# on it

nice looking plan, might want to brace the ends of the angle the weights are on.
is Elizabeth City NC too far for you to come pull, they will probably do a couple of diesel events that pay out you can pull in 2 or 3 classes, and your truck is similar to mine you would probably do quite well there.
there web site is MCTTP.com, I am sure you know about the diesel event at the OBX speedway.

There is guy around here that has a detachable box that connects to a front 2 inch reciever that he fills with lead shot. He throws in the 80 pound bags when needed. The bags are only 17x6x5.

Just make sure get a good weld on those joints and use tubing with a thick enough wall. Nothing more embarrassing than running over your own weights and weight bracket. I've seen it happen, makes for a good laugh later.

nice lookin plan.. i also am under weight "the truck that is..lol" i averaged around 7200-7300lbs last year depending on the fuel level... i was still lucky enough to be up in the top couple and even got a couple first places.... even though that is 5/8 plate it probably wouldn't hurt with a gussit.. once it starts bouncin a little it might eventually weakin it.. just my opinion.. looks good though!!!
I still got 192 ft with street tires and clutch. I ran outta clutch and tire before power though
