Baja & Desert Racing Rules

Ive been trying to find specific rules on the various classes for say class 8. I would like to make some changes to my truck and would like to someday compete (big maybe) and I dont want to modify my truck beyond the rules.

I tried scores website and you must pay to be a member to get them.

I joined race-dezert.com but I havnt been approved to post yet so I thought I would see if any of you guys had an idea.

I was just on pirate 4x4 and asked the same ? So why would I get bashed and have people say stuff like "if you cant afford the rules you cant afford to race". I mean come on who pays fer stuff if its free somewhere else. I know I'll have to buy a membership to score if I AM ever ready to compete or want to so why pay for the same rules twice even if there 2 bucks???

Whatever rant off.

Pirate's a tough crowd and you must have thick skin. When making a thread there it helps to post links to almost useful info you searched yourself so it looks like you did make an effort. Not saying you didn't just a FYI.

I've not read the book, so the question is valid for me too. I don't know how much "give" the tech advisors give, I imagine suspension lifts are allowed but suspension swaps are definitely out. I know my Chevy won't qualify simply because of the sheet metal rules.

thanks foe the link man every little bit helps. I passed by that on there site. Sounds like class 8 may not be what I'm looking for. The max allowable shock bolt is no more than half inch is what I thought I read. I may reread that again sounds like a misprint I would think.

Check out info for the 2008 Baja 1000. I looked into going down for the event and think there may be rules/guidelines posted on that site.
