91 nv4500 SB con-ofe pulling advice...
Have fun when you weld it all together!
I highly advise against pulling on a single disk clutch. It's a good way to trash it.

A lot worse...
My first reaction to your responces was to be annoyed/offened and say that not everyone has the $$ to buy a DD clutch. But since i am in some sences growing up i didn't respond immediately. i paid a good bit for this clutch, probably a little less than half of the DD, if i destroy it and need to replace it i will have spent the same amount of money and still only have a singe disk. "you have to pay to play" comes to mind, either up front or because i broke something. As much as i'd like to hook (i'm running twice the power i was last year) i'm really not ready to buy another clutch! guess i'll have to continue to get ready for future years...

I did it on my stocker. I slipped it bad but it is still holding, after 2 more pulls with it. What I did the first time, I gave'er about half pedal travel, let it out slowly until it hooked and mashed the go pedal. Smelled horrible but no clutch smoke. The second time I gave it about 1200-1400 rpms let it out until I was moving slightly, dumped it and mashed the go pedal at the same time. Lots of exhaust smoke as the engine fell WAY below the charger. At about 75 feet it finally spooled. I got 2 more feet that way.
The third time, I did the same but I added about 800#'s more weight in the bed. Got 20 more feet than the last time.
I am gonna spend money on a DD BUT I will not pull with this clutch again. It still holds in 5th gear at WOT from 35-70. NO slippage but I know I am playing with a ticking time bomb if I do anymore pulling.
BTW, 2nd4lo is what I did as I couldn't get the sled started in 3rd4lo.

We pulled a couple of weeks ago with the '05, launching in 4LO 3rd with the stock clutch no problems - actually was a decent pull. Tried 4LO 4th later, but the LUK went up in smoke big time! After cool-down it was fine, been holding just as well as ever, although the pedal releases a tad closer to the floor now...
That was with 3:73s and 37" Toyo MTs.

. oh well... one of these days i'll drag the thing off the end of the track.
Check out the thread I started a few weeks about about the T-Cases.. the 205 is geared way faster than the 241.. You'll probably be in low 2nd... Low third is close to Hi2 with the 205 case.. We're running in low 3rd, and we ran out of HP at the last pull, but we had added some weight.. The truck was weight to 8000lbs... And its making some good HP for a VE truck. No way the FE we had in it before would have held.. If you can get it going it might hold..

Edit: We are running 3.55's with 285 tires..

JDGnut i'm running a nv4500 with np205. 4.10 gearing with 285s also running the con OFE not the FE so i've got the oganic material that i'm sure wouldn't like the heat. there is a HUGE diff in overall speed between 2nd and 3rd from what i've noticed... 3rd would be a great gear to pull in for the overall speed but way to tall for the clutch i'm afraid. if i pull 2nd i just won't have enough speed to have any shot at winning... i think i'll just wait until i have the correct setup for pulling.
