Hey, I pulled in the 8000 lb street class at that pull. The track was pretty horrible. I have two regrets as traction was by far the limiting factor...I wish I pulled in a higher gear (I was in 3 low) and I after the first truck in the class snapped his front driveshaft, I decided not to air down for more bite. Wish I did now. I was in a silver '97 ext. cab. I've got a couple of pics I'll post as soon as I download them from the camera. Sucks that the Fords won everything. I think they were all pulling in a higher gear.
Are you pulling in Rock Hall in two weeks?

I was there and pulled 8200 in my truck. Ill agree that track sucked. Chestertown was no better last year than at Queen Anns this past weekend. Hopefully it will be better this time coming up. Anyway, I was expecting to see a little more smoke out of yours, but you must have a pretty good size turbo. DONT change a thing!!! Try it at Chestertown and see how you do. Also If you want to try a real track, go to the Buck. If you do something there, you know you got some real power and traction. Hate to say it but you may not win at the Buck though, sorry. Seems like the only people that win up there live in 717 area code. Good job by the way. And that blue and silver 12 valve will be ready for you again. Im going to go to work on it this week and get it back together for Travis.

why does everyone think that im out to beat trucks like travis' and RAMpage. I'm just trying to get used to pulling a sled for the first few times out, i get lucky once, and everyone is on my case because I am happy about it. I never said I had anything better or drove any better than anyone else. I prolly did better because I have less power and had less wheel spin than those 700+hp trucks

I'm interested too.

I read throughout the post and re-read for some reason I can not find out what gear you stated you where in?
And if you where in 4lo for 4hi.

And you're right, that track doesn't look all that good.

Good pull tho nonetheless

I think you where in to low of a gear and probilly should of lugged a higher gear.

What clutch do you have in that?
If its a good clutch I would deff. go about running a higher gear or bigger tires and same gear you ran and split it coming off the line until you hook and then just go with it.

From my understanding it deals a lot with the truck condition too.
If the truck is moreso hard packed clay, or more of a muddy terrain.
The only reason I would say that is from drag racing my fourwheeler on dirt/clay I had to find track position for my launch, and if I where launching on the harder part of the track where my tires would spin i would slip the clutch less, if i where launching where my tires would grip i'd slip the clutch a lot more and get traction but w/o flipping over..

I never hooked up to a sled before but I'm really interested in it this season and hope to get my 12valve blown some coal down @ the pulls

well i got my second hook this past weekend with a real sled on a real track and placed 4th out of 9 in the open diesel class with a 240'

1. dodge- 248'
2. dodge- 243'
3. ford- unsure
4. dodge- 240' (me)
5. dodge- 239'

ran the same gear with the TST turned up a little, smarty turned down a little and found out what its like to have a track bog ya down. it kept me down around 2900 rpms. none of that 4k stuff this time.

i'd post the video but my mother, sister, and girlfriend were talking so much and screaming so much when filming i'm embarrassed to put the video up LOL

i'll wait until someone with a better video can post it up.
