12" Wide Wheels?

Anyone running 12" wide wheels on their trucks? I've seen a 33x13.50 mounted on an 18x12 the other day and looked like a square, would be a way to get alot more tread on the track for pulling. But what about on a daily basis, too much u-joint and steering component wear?
Anyone with pics would be a welcome too.

Hey Mike what's up, are you planning to pull this year? I like the idea of wider tires and wheels but for some reason most of the pullers dont agree with me, they say that my LTB swampers are to much traction and I need to drop back to an all terrain. I think If I have to much traction that means I just need more power to go with it and when driveline parts break you have to upgrade and not just replace. That is just my opinion but it seems to work well for me.

I would love to try a set of 16-35/16 boggers on the widest rim I could get, but I would hate to loose the dually look.

I say if you want to try it go for it that is the real way to find out if it works or not.

I'd love to pull this year. My 06 has a 6" lift and 35x13.50x20s on it now, not so good for pulling. Tim told me he has a set of stock 06 suspension parts I can have, so I think I am gonna go ahead and lower it down, put it on some 33x13.50x18s.
With the money I can get for the 6" lift and the larger tires and wheels I figure I can start to build this thing right, at least a smarty and lift pump for starters, then I need to work out a deal with Tim to finance a DTT setup. Maybe this year I can get down there.

I run 16x12 Mickey Thompson Classic II's with 33x12.50-16 Truxus STS's and if anyone tells you, you can't run 12.50's on a 12 they are full of chit I also on another truck run 33x12.50 wildcat EXT mudders on 16.5x12 eagle alloy, I love the short fat style of trucks!
