I was thinking about this today.

Realistically, with a good transmission and components designed to handle the added stress, whats the best way to lock the truck up? For every day driving acceleration would be smoother, fuel consumption would be less, and they *should* tow better as well.

Why don't more people mod the trucks to get them into lockup more often?

ATS has the lock up commander btu for drag and dyno it's alot cheaper just to spend $1.99 on a switch and a few bucks on some wire and connecters. The ATS unit is nice you can set up the lockup speed what gear and all sorts of variables but I can do all that just as easy with the flip of a finger.

Ok, im a bit confused on a few parts here.
1. How do you ground the orange/black wire with out cutting?
2. Do you put the wire coming from the orange/black to one prong on the switch and the other ground wire on another prong?
3. What kind of switch should i look for?
4. Any size wire i should use?

You got it, run the "tap" wire to one side of the switch and the other side to a good ground. I ususally use a two position rocker switch that is rated for 15 amps. I think I used 14g wire but I am not sure.

Thanks, that helps alot. So if i werent to do the LED's i would disregard the left side and only have the right side if the switch in your drawing then?
Also how do you ground the orange/black wire with out cutting?

Yes, if you want to skip the LED's just get a single pole switch. I like to have the option to lock the TC, leave it in the stock setting or unlock the TC at will. If you notice I cut the wire and run extensions into the cab, if you just want to lock the TC you just tie the wire into the one in the truck, then run your wire to one side of the switch and the other side goes to ground. This way when the switch is not locked the truck acts like stock, when you throw the switch it locks.

Ok, but the tst instructions say "connect ground wire to B11 orange/black wire.(do not cut this wire)" why dont they want you to cut it?
What switch has the 3 settings(lock, normal, unlock)? I would like to have the unlock feature aswell.

That is correct, if you just want to lockup you "tie into" the dodge wiring, the reason that you do not cut it is because you are just "grounding" the circuit, if you cut the wire you will make the circuit incomplete and it will not work with the simple one wire single throw switch, or you might end up locked all the time-----a bad move. If you want the lock, unlock and stock settings you need to CUT the wire and run it into the cab as the directions that I hand drew show.

The lockup only switch that is tied into the dodge wiring requires a single pole single throw switch. The system as I built is requires a single pole DOUBLE throw switch, and if you want the LED's you need the double pole double throw switch.

I hope this helps to clarify for you.
