Will this ever end....
Truck is still sitting at airdrie chrysler, been calling them non stop. Latest word is that their 2 diesel techs got hung up working on an engine and havnt had time to get to my truck yet but it is next in line. It was supposed to go in yesterday at noon, jerks!!!
Dont you like that electronic control stuff. You need them to re-program the computer to talk the truck and match the VIN # stuff? I have to get dodge to program my door clicker so my computer will open the door. They take you to the cleaner just for the simple stuff anybody should have the right to do themselves. They want two hours of shop time to program a new clicker. For that money I could put in a decent alarm system.
Why Airdrie?
They aren't too bad, depending on who you get to work on it.

I looked at a new CTD truck today. During the entire test drive the check engine lite was on. To funny. They then gave me the gears about ripping off the DPP filter and doing the egt block. Wow. they did not like that. At the end of the day, I drove my old truck home. To funny....
I'm crossing my fingers they don't screw your truck up...I don't trust dealer mechanics...I don't trust mechanics at any place...The best mechanics are still the ones that work on there own vehicles in there back yard...But in this case Fred, you had no choice....
Dave, some shops are a pleasure to get work on your truck. I'm sure that Fred would say that Goerend was top notch. I have lots of respect for PDR and the local cummins shop here in town. Not too many shops in town are truck diesel heads. Airdrie isn't bad, they just have to want to work. Its business. Sales and service in a dealership are to different things. I want to fair but on the other hand I don't want to be done over. Calgary has been too good for too many outfits here in town. Growing pains. This is the period of time that will determines who survives and who doesn't as a dealership. I'm curious on how things end up for big bad Freddy. We have to get him rolling again. Five speed Fred, kinda sounds good...
I'm with you buddy, but I go thru to many vehicles to get hung up. Sooner or later you have to go to the dealership. I should buy that truck, drive it home and rip into her right of the get go. The second oil change no emmission stuff. Tuff to sell a new truck that has issues from day one. Nice truck, wow. That interior is top notch stuff, too bad I would ruin it if I bought it. I wonder what they would say if I put a 12v under the hood.
I too hate going to the dealership or leaving my vehicles with anyone.
My truck has only been to dealer once, that was when the transmission back up light switch failed.
The part was way overpriced at about C$120. Since the truck was still under warranty & it only takes 2 minutes to change, I tempted fate & took it to Courtesy Chrysler near our house. I was nervous as heck to leave the truck out of my sight for an hour but all was fine though.
When my original lift pump failed under warranty leaving me stranded on John Laurie Blvd, & after phoning the dealer to try to avoid the in-tank pump "repair/upgrade", I overnited the Glacier/walbro fuel system & fixed the truck myself. Cost me a ton but well worth it in the long run.
I did have to sweet talk the warranty provided tow truck driver to tow the truck to my house rather than the dealership.
I hope Fred gets his truck fixed quickly & with minimum $$$$..

Well we made record time, High River, Alberta to Pasco, Washington in 7 hours and 5 minutes. Went to I.H.O.P and had a Big Steak Omlet with strawberry banana pancakes and a carafe of O.J. Got the Pcm, paid 125 bucks for it and it cost me 100 bucks for fuel roughly. Left at midnight the night before last and was back today at 8.
