Will this ever end....

Well today my tranny lost 1st gear and overdrive.... any ideas???
I was driving like a granny and nothing out of the ordianary was going on then next thing ya know when I went to leave an intersection, I had no 1st it just went to 2nd.
Other strange things, my converter hasnt been able to lock for about a month now, tried calling Goerend and got no answer...
When my washer fluid light comes on my tranny goes into limp mode and does almost the same thing but when it is in limp mode you can just select 1st and it will force it into 1st. Now it wont work.
Sometimes when I get on it on the highway from about 80 it will kick down then up then down then up again really fast then hold fine...
So once again my lead filled right foot has done me nothing but harm...

Thanks in advance

Hey you, go away lol. I have been told that 3 times now this week!!!
All I did was put his injectors in my truck and now all it does is spit out parts that to most should be unbreakable lol.

I think you found your answer.

Keep trying Goerand, he'd be the one that would know best, I would assume.

Sounds like some good old electrical gremlins in the harness.. If the washer fluid light affects your tranny, a ground or relay must be kaput..

Have you dropped the pan? I thought that I drove like an old lady. We could put a pressure guage in the tranny after you service it. I would change the tranny filter, before ruining a good tranny. Goerand will have pressure specs for the tranny. Theres a electrical harness on the driver side of the transmission. You could unclick and use some electrical cleaner on the cotacts. I've thought that you might have a ground issue. Does the idle rpm bounce? Have you check the resistor in the PCM? Maybe something come loose? Whats your tranny fluid level? Sorry buddy, been there to. I didn't park beside you at the last meet. As for the low windwasher fluid, just keep the bottle full, thats a easy one.

Any codes?
It is going into limp home mode.
Does it have a resistor inline at the computer?

they were NADP,, but mine was caused from too little torque management... I was running on wild tq management in the smarty, well it would fry the forward clutches in 3 passes

Ok guys its not the tranny after all. Its something electrical, I have found 2 cut wires on the main connector on top of the tranny and I have a new plug on the way, hoping thats the problem. Code says no 12v at the tranny, there is 14v at the relay so I think the cut wires are probably the problem.
I'll keep ya posted...
On a good note Goerend is still up and running, apparently I can't call their shop from my cell phone though... he got my email and called me this morning and talked to me for about 25mins walking me through some troubleshooting trying to figure it out.
I will be getting a Goerend tranny in every diesel I ever purchase, can't beat the customer service!!

lucky it sounds like an easy fix.

Does Gorend do GM trannies too, or strictly dodge autos? specifically wondering about the 4l80E.
