i found a 1997 cummins engine 400 ish on it , had bad oil leak and was pulled and they found pits in camshaft when fixing oil leaks , engine is all there down to the turbo , ????????????????????????????????????

 

$2000 at MOST if the body is good. Remember the engine maybe HD but the rest of the truck is still just a light duty truck. I'assuming the engine is still all torn down?

Is it in pieces? Ouch, thats gonna be a hard sell. I would pass on the truck unless you have part available. I would say $500, as is. If the guy takes it, you get a bag of bolts and go for it. If not walk away. There always more trucks.

 

the engine is back together , but i only want the injection system off it , i think i can have it for a 1000

 

i talk to the guy he said the truck is as is , will not gaurentee it's good engine

That seems pricy. Was not long ago a 94 2500 400km 5spd 2wd perfect running order pretty good shape $2000. If I had the room it would be in my driveway right now!

 

I have that VE engine if you want parts. One piston is messed up. Between the two of them you should almost have a runner. Just buy it cheap. It can't be worth much. Take $750, cash. You might get lucky.

all i need is the p-pump stuff to change on to my ve my ve only has 150 000km on it from when i put pistons and bearings in it

 

$1k really isn't that bad. Try and find a good running pump for that, let alone the rest of the parts to convert. You could do better, but not that much better. I'd consider it if I were in your shoes. A kit to do what you are wanting to do is $1800 from Haisley/Scheids, and you still need a variety of items.
