thermocouple
Anyone know if Peterbilt has them in Edmonton? I read that some of their trucks come with stock pyros.
K type with yellow and red wires. Looking for a cheap replacement big rig source. Mine is giving erratic readings.
Already checked the ground on the x monitor and it appears to be good. Just need someone to sit in the cab and watch as I wiggle to pyro wires to see if its an internal break. Pulled the pyro and cleaned off the built up soot. No real help.

Almost all of your class #8 trucks come stock with at least one pyrometer. Any of the major truck dealerships will carry replacements. I am not sure what the thread size and type is, you will have to confirm that. Frieghtliner typically has the best hours of operation (open the latest and on weekends). Goodluck.

Steve, I "think" I have an extra unused Isspro pyrometer. Im still in chaos from moving. Will try to look for it this weekend. I did pay full price for it so im not exactly sure how cheap youre looking for.

If you get a chance, cool. If not that's OK, too.
I emailed some firms that only sell thermocouples figuring they'd be the lowest $. Going to BD for one would get me a 50% markup I figured.
Turns out even the thermocouple store was about 50 clams so thats about as cheap as I can get one I figured.

I would try an industrial engine mechanic group in your area, oil and gas they should have a couple in the truck. Or an instrumentation company might sell them for the panels.
