How come dodge doesn't sell a power wagon verison of a CTD? I'm gonna sell if they can order one or find one that was special. I want the power wagon stuff but the pulling power of a diesel. From dodge a decent work, no modding required.
The power wagon comes with the larger diameter A/T wheels, locking front and rear ends, winch and disattachable sway bar and good tires. You get that with a warranty, just no darn 6.7 CTD are available. With that truck I would live with the yucky exhaust. I'm already on my third set of speakers on my 08 1500ton.

The reason that they dont offer a diesel I was told is to do with the PTO output. It just wont work with the diesel,, also some clearance issues with the locker front end...

I'm sure something could be redesigned to accommodate if they really wanted too..........but alas.........we would have to improve on some of their harebrained engineering anyway.

Diesel power said 2011-2012 there will be one, the problem was the clearance for the intercooler/radiator with the winch/sway bar up front. They are working on it, they also feared the torque of the 6.7 would cause trouble with the smaller AAM1050 axel and it would not have the same capacity as the AAM1150 (weight capacity being the main reason for getting a diesel)

i heard once that weight was a factor in that as well........
but its the same as why you can't get a duramax in a suburban. because you can only get an allison behind the Dmax and the allison doesn't fit in the Burb tranny tunnel. and GM won't re-tool to change the floor pans because it'll cost too much.

Jason, good timing! We'll chat about a few things. So far my mileage is not great but I have been doing a bunch of idling. The EGR plug seemed to have fallen out at some point??? Truck has run great all winter. You'll love the 68RFE. Marc

I have a 1991 banks charged 6.2 4L80-E with OEM standalone from a crewcab 1ton......same as was in a Burb of the same year. I want a new one not and old peice of junk.
*edit* maybe the most important fact out that van setup is that is grossely detuned so the 4l85 will survive. for that fact I vote they don;t count. the allison is the only GM offering that will take the 660ftlb rating...........if I wanted 460 ftlbs of TQ I'd have left my '95 12v stock
Do you search for the word duramax when you long onto the site everytime? you seem to get into every obscure mension of the word.....actually don't answer start a new thread lets not highjack Mr. Dogs new truck thread...........

My brother was give me the gears yesterday about my truck being broke again. He maxes out at 27 psi of boost and I can pull into the 80's. I asked him when the last time he passed a corvette going wot and then covered it with smoke? Anyways...
I'm warming up to the new diesel truck idea. Just those darn payments and the dodge warranty BS. Its all starts off good, then you have a warranty claim, the fights on... My 1500 is been a good truck, just these darn speakers can't take the max setting anymore.

Its not here yet!! I don't call it mine cuz I only have the paper, not the keys! Hopefully tomorrow for the collection, maybe Wed depending on my work sched. Then some better pictures instead of the camera phone. Mind you I saw about 50 of the same darn trucks on the way home...
I am not ashamed of getting a CR.. Factory EX brake, 6 speed auto with a manual selector made the decision pretty simple not to mention the cab space for my 3 kids and 2 dogs. The ol Club cab just wasn't comfy for long trips with the family anymore.
