Some pics of the carnage
Not really.. If you look closely, dvst8r pointed out the nice crack in cylinder #3. Must have split the pin bore in the piston and the rest was just flying around. Peak pressures must have been around 2000 psi..
Kev, its must be a miracle that the valves are still ok, with all that stuff that extra stuff in the cylinders. I would pull the valves out and check to see if they are still in decent shape.
It is weird, but there isnt a single mark on them,,, nothing what soever.... not even a scratch! All the O Rings that Tate seated are there just like when we put it on, everything,, I will try to get some pics tonight and post them for you to look
You know I just clicked in to the boobies,,, my posters on the walls,,, LOL,, they came with the house. The fellow left them behind, there is definately some nice ones up there.... LOL
Kev, do you have a valve spring compressor? I would still pop a few out abit (the valve still in the guide) and use a dial on the valve to see if you have any woobles. If you have no woobles, your one lucky man. Unbelievable. I bet there will be a few more cracked pistons.
Nice pics Kevin.. We were just talking about asking you to post carnage pictures up on Saturdays' GTG...
Reminds of Calgary's Ryan Hoskin's a few years ago. He used to be a regular at Race City with his Chevy Malibu. Nicest, but most hardcore guy I've ever met.
He was in the 1st Hot Rod Magazine Pump Gas Drags in Memphis
& he blew is Dart/Brodix 632 BBC to smithereens that year.
If I recall, all his special Titanium, cryrogenic wrist pins broke with predictable results.
He drives like Kevin, never lift until the engine has stopped running, regardless of fire, parts flying etc... !!
Just kidding Kevin!!
His website is still up, but not updated in years...

Here are the pics, Hot Rod Magazine article, Memphis and dyno videos, scattered engine... Note that his 1st pass was 156mph, pedalling all the way down the track...

Last I ran into Ryan was at the Hot rod car show several years ago.. He had helped build a turbo SBC 1st gen F-body 10inch tire drag car for a local guy with health issues.
