VE pump carnage (pics inside)
Well i had the old "bad" 93 pump up on the bench with "boostedve" and removed the throttle linkage assembly and found that the throttle shaft spun effortlessly 360* ... immediately i thought "the gov. spring broke".
Found this-
what we found was the area where the pin rides was SO warn out and thin that it wasn't doing its job anymore..theres no doubt in my mind that little peice of metal is as thing OR THINNER than an aluminum mountain dew can....
thought i'd share. LOOK AT THIS WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR PUMP TOP OFF!!!
I guess that makes sense, the PO said he was driving it and it just shut off and wouldn't restart.

take a syringe with a small hose and suck the diesel out of the pump with the top off, that way you can see the insides from the top. if you want, from there you can see the cam plate, check it for flatness of the lobes, and the plunger return springs become visible to, if all that is good you might still have a chance with it.
