slave cylinder setup
slave cylinder setup
Hey guys,
Hope it's not out of line, I posted basically the same q' in the 12valve forum and I'm getting zero response. I know a couple of the Alberta guys have installed SB dd clutches--is it normal/ok to have to push the slave cylinder pushrod deeper into the piston when you install it? My pushrod sticks out over 3" and the seat on the arm is only an inch or so inside the hole--seems like that would cause the release bearing to be spinning all the time? or is that normal with a hydraulic release system?

Thanks Tate
so does that mean that the throwout bearing is spinning all the time then? with that pressure against the throwout fingers?
Mechanical linkages I've always set up with just a bit of slack to avoid burning up the throwout bearing--obviously the size of the bearing and the RPM's with this engine are both in the bearing's favour
