NV5600 tranny fluid in Calgary?

I'm not having much luck finding manual tranny oil here in Calgary. What oil are you guys using and where can I get it? NV5600.

I know the dealers but just don't like to go there

Where can you buy Amsoil up here?

you can use any old GL-5 rated oil the the nv5600. its the NV4500 that requires GL-4 rated oil for the synchronizer assembly.

"Firing Order' is bang on.. The NV4500 is more sensitive to proper fluid grade, the 5600 not so much..

i got mine from Par Auto parts in Airdrie. Cost i think 16/L. But still cheaper than the dealer for the last time i changed mine. The dealer was 28/L IIRC.

I always just use the Dodge stuff in NV5600s. Part # 4874464. Never experimented with anything else.

"Synchromesh" fluid is what you are looking for. Quaker State and Penzoil both sell versions of it.

I picked up some Quaker State today at NAPA for $12/L.

FYI I changed mine out yesterday. Drained it thru the bolt PTO cover bolt and then pulled the center console and shifter so I could fill it thru thetop. I put in 6L.

Didn't seem to make a difference. Still shifts like crap and hard to get into 2nd from a stop.

I guess I'll try the upgraded SB hydraulic kit. I'm thinking my stock system may not completly release the SB clutch.

Anyway, I'm not in a hurry. I don't have any shift problems, just coming up on 160Km and figure its due

Thanks for the feedback.
