No start after overhaul
Hey guys. I haven't been on in a long time. My dads engine threw a rod bearing so I pulled it out and overhauled it. Over the last 2 months I've been trying to put it back together, driving up to Edmond to work on a it for a couple hours at a time. Anyway, it's all in, ready to start, but the fuel pump won't pump. It's not getting the signal to turn on. I checked all the fuses and relays under the hood and everything checks out, pump runs if you put power to it at the relay post. There are also a few lights on in the dash, can't remember which, now. The gear indicator in the dash isn't working either. I scoured for a poor connection or cut wire and can't find anything, I have since had to leave again for work. Can anyone tell me what the heck else to check? It's like a pair of connectors are swapped or I have a ground wire hooked up to power. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Acting like that \I'd say you've forgot to reattach one or some grounds. either straps or to the battery. Seen it like that on highway trucks lots. you forget 1 of the 9 grounds and everything is haywire.
