AFI would be my pick as well. Seems everyone has a good time there.

AFI for me as well but I would prefer in late May also or instead of February.

Since AFI is in limbo, perhaps a backup dyno & shop should be researched & discussed.

Did anyone go to the DPS Dyno day last June here in Calgary? How was that?

We should do the next outting in Edmonton or Red Deer. We seem to have decent turnouts there. I heard E-town GCL dyno worked pretty good for the cummins forum boys, but I think its a mustang dyno.

So Joe, you gonna crank her up for the GTG? I saw on the 625 thread that you have plans...

Another Mustang dyno...Those things can't hold our trucks without spinning on the rollers..

I have no idea of another good dyno in Alberta beside AFI...input???

AFI will be in their new shop in the new year. When I talked to Martin, he said he'd be settled by the time we want our day.

CCV wasn't too bad when we were there. I do like their dyno. Loads up the trucks well. Only downside is you gotta drop the duals, for guys like Dave.

Doesn't seem to be very many good reviews of DPS. I know I didn't have a very good experience buying stuff. Don't really feel like giving them my money. Maybe someone should in Calgary should buy a dyno.

its not just last year......they have problems always or they just dont care. i go with the latter.

i put my red truck on DPS I think 2 years ago now. I booked it. got 3 pulls. $150. no setup. you could smell my tires roasting on it. and lined out 125hp lower than my AFI numbers with more done to it.

I'll never give them my money, unless I have no other choice.

Yeah DPS was basically a charity donation/gtg, read a lot lower than AFIs, and yeah my tranny was still pretty solid at that time, haha. May like Joe said would be perfect, who knows, might even have a bigger spinny thing on by that time.

Well, if May seems to be the consensus, we should start planning our mid winter get together. Its just not right if we aren't hanging out in -20.

Just throwing this out there but GCL in Edmonton also has a dyno...

Edit: sorry Mike, you'd suggested that. Mattyboy and a few others on CF have run there trucks there and would know if its a mustang dyno or not.

If your just going for numbers, I like to run DD, or DJ's, but if I am actually trying to do some tunning, like on a P-Pump. I want a Mustang, that I can load it up, and have a set run time for it. This allows you to slow down the run, and actually see what it is doing, as well as it loads the chargers a lot more like what you would see on the street.

Quite frankly, I don't care what number it says, I just care that it is repeatable day to day, event to event, so I can actually measure the changes I have made.

Glad to hear AFI should be ok by the time we decide to go ahead.

We should still have some kind of backup plan/backup dyno.

Did we ever discuss Davenports Dynojet in Calgary before?
Does GCL have a dyno in Calgary similar to GCL in Edmonton?

I think we had ruled out the other dyno's in Calgary.

I agree the Dynopack at CCV in Red Deer was pretty good despite some of the high HP guys having trouble & traction issues.

...Joe

i called horsepower solutions but they said some trucks won't fit on the dyno because you have to go on a 4 post lift to get on. derrick dodge has a dyno but probably more rules then we would like. i would say afi consistent numbers and he knows whos coming (wont complain about smoke etc.)
