Good to hear you are still going strong with your tranny. Also good to hear they know about the solenoid issue - I was going to mention that to them and fix it before it even became a problem . . .
The only hesitation I have is the warranty from Excell - 1 yr/20k. But the quick service - if needed - will be nice . . .
Like you said, if I was closer to Iowa, it would be Goerend for sure. I know Armor carries them, but I think the warranty work still has to be done at Goerends shop . . . but not positive.

Correct me if i'm wrong but after reading plenty of tranny theads over the last few months----- is it better to run the stock intermediate shaft for towing/odd running hard/daily driving/little track time(I.E.- boost launches) than running a full billet one----something about flex and if the stock one does let go there is less damage.Sorry guys i'm new to this auto stuff but now that i have one i have to start paying attention cause one day i will need to "UPGRADE".The way i'm starting to like the 07 now----slow build up,,,,, but it is starting to happen

Any flexplate that I have ever saw has just sheared off and then just spins with lots of racket. Shafts that break in your tranny cause some wild damage... For the 500 horsepower level, I don't think you will have any issues with the parts you ordered Doj Dewd.

also on the laminated plate (to re-assure myself more) the guys at source automotive run it on trucks in the 800hp range with zero issues to date. they haven't seen one fail yet, despite what truck it is on . . . wel it's already ordered and shipped so i'll just stick with it.

laminated flexplate from Source Automotive
everything else done and supplied by Excell Transmission in Red Deer (including billet triple disc converter)
i know the warranty isn't the greatest, i just hope nothing happens to it inside the warranty timeframe goerend offers - then i'll really be kicking myself!

you got a good plan sounds like.
with regards to the flexplate. at the drag strip, scatter sheilds and/or tranny blankets are mandatory in the faster vehicles for a reason. because too many people in the past have taken shrapnel in the legs from exploding clutches and flexplates.
I'm just sayin, just cause one dude has never had a problem. theres a reason for the rule.

i'm anxious for the shafts and plate to arrive so i can take it up to excell and get it done and over with!
We have to at least put in some bigger sticks first and add a couple turbos to try out. Then racing becomes more fun

Jason, you're not towing anything to heavy. You could probably run 600+rwhp and daily drive, still get good fuel mileage.

bigger sticks are in the mail. i found a set of new in box mach 2's on CF classifieds section. they are 105 hp sticks. should be a nice seat of the pants feel compared to the rv275's!
i have to wait for the shafts and flexplate to arrive, then call up and schedule it in. it takes them 3 days to have it out the door once it arrives. hopefully within a month it will be done . . .
