Mitusa Install
well i went out and picked up the extra hose, got back home and it was smooth sailing today.
got it all plumbed up.
un-did the fitting on the back of the filter canister,
ran the punp with the plastic pulley in a drill until it ran steadily for a few seconds,
tightened the fitting back up, ran it with a drill for another 20 seconds,
put the belt back on the balancer pulley and she fired right up,
sounded like it was going to die so i shut it off,
turned it over again and have had no issues since then with multiple starts/shut-offs.
seems to run like a champ so far. i'll have to take it for a test drive later tonite so i can see some real world/driving pressures.
i'll snap a couple pics later of the final install and post them up on photobucket . . .

no special tools required, just a basic set of tools & wrenches will get you by just fine. the install was very straight forward and easy. it was time consuming for me, i have never altered the fuel system until now. if i were to do it again, which would be the 2nd time around, i would say it'd take me 3 hrs if i could work at it from start to finish. this time i had to do it over a period of a 3-4 days because i couldn't find one solid block of time to just work on it and be done. i had to work little by little (take out the tools, get working, stop working, clean up - over and over . . .)

thanx, i think it is really hard to mess up the install.
the only cons of the kit:
- no filter & head included (although he will send the kit with the provisions/fittings for one)
- no fittings included to run bigger hose from the canister to the injection pump. all the other lines are taken car of though . . . again, this is an easy fix with a few dollars worth of fittings . . .

Thanks! It looks like I don't have to worry about installing it. I asked Opie for some details on the kit and he said there won't be any going out for a couple months.
What to do now...

a couple months hey? that really sucks - looks like i got mine in the nick of time then!
i guess you could go with airdog, or fass
you go with the MITUSA knock-off from GDP - i think it's called the fuel boss. it is also a belt driven pump - but the plumbing looks WAY more complicated on that kit. if i had to buy the fuel boss - i would not plumb it as per the instructions - i would plumb it the way Opie does - he keeps it very simple with his kit.

Bswope showed me some installation pictures. When it comes to the plumbing I can see myself buying the wrong fittings or missing a part and my truck being down for a week lol I'll have to do some research on what fittings and how much fuel line I would need. Plus what size to go with.
