What you gonna buy? The new stuff has that darn DPF and EGR valve attached to them. I would lean towards a CTD 07 or 08, as your gonna rip that stuff off. The RFE68, is power limited I hate to say, but I think that you'll regret selling off the 01 truck. I would find a better shifter and keep the old girl. You'll get more cheap miles out the old girl than anything newer. I'm at 275k, and I thought there was a time that my truck would never get into 200k for miles. I've been through, the times that I hate the truck but cooled off enough to keep her.You could keep her as a nice play truck.

I'd sure be interested in that turbo if we could work out a deal on it. I don't know what it'd take to ship back and forth.

I'm not sure what I'm going to get for a newer ride. I will miss the 01 but it has done me well, and the wife is the boss plus I don't have any room for it as we are in town and have to many toys already.

I am either going to go back to dodge 08-09 ish or a GM 08-09 ish with the allison.
I have to go do some test driving...I

Can you guys give me a guess on what the 01 is worth in a private sale as is, I do have some guys even locally asking, I'm just not sure if I could deal with seeing it in the same town as me.....

Greenworks, you could put in an allison 1000 and a T-case 271, behind the old 24 valver. Sale the 5 speed. No monthly payments

Mines worth around the $7-10K mark, but mines has a few dents in it. I can make more in one to two months of beating on it than to give it away. The chevy is a nice truck, so is the dodge. Next year is the model change, so they are giving away the 09. You can scoop-up a nicely optioned 09 auto truck, with tons of extra emission stuff hanging on it.Your gonna miss shutting off the truck at the locally drive thru

I like it and it works.. Actually too well with my S300. It makes boost much faster than stock and actually barks alot due to that. It makes more boost at lower turbine speed (to me that means better efficiency) so the second you let off the fuel it barks.. But it is a vast improvement in noise control, which if you have the Scotty, is REQUIRED with an aftermarket turbo.

I hear your pain GW.. Go for the Dodge, the EB and 6 speed makes towing a breeze.. Love my 08...

He is talking about the auto, the new ones have a 6 speed auto. They work great.. stock they arent any screaming for mileage.. but only a little bit of mods gets the milage where it should be

Yah I know, but I am used to manuals

looked at a 09 mega today, didn't have time to test drive it. I didn't realize they had a exhaust brake in them already, interesting. Do they work when idling if you want?

A RH48 or RE48 would fit in nicely into the truck. I think Kev has a spare one available.

Try it man.. Once you get the kids in there its night and day over the old ride..You just need a golf club to dish out the discipline back there!

The 6 spd auto is great, especially the paddle shifter. The Ebrake works at idle with low ambient temps to help in warming up. Actually it works on high idle as well, gets things toasty. My wife fights me for the keys all the time, she likes driving it as well. The Ebrake is the VGT not a separate item.

Stock... well close to stock I am getting 14 mpg on average per tank. Towing is only slightly lower at 12. The Smarty was good for at least 2 solid mpg on the stock truck equipment.

Green,
If you part the truck out......I am all over that S300 turbo of yours. I could include my HY35 in the deal if you needed one to replace it.
Keep us posted.

would you be willing to make a deal/trade on the timbo apps and my stock apps?

will my 2000 be compatible with your 2001.5 (and vica versa) if we swap?
