I realize why I hate nerf bars....

The rock chips it causes! The rocks fly back fro the front wheel hit the back bar and fly straight up into the rear of the cab and front of the box, I maust have 20- chips on each side at 7000km.
The BFG's are terrible for holding rocks as well and are part of the problem, might be going down to line X for some colour matched line coating like the 01.

I gave into the nerf bars for the wife and kids....should have held my ground

Anybody got some ideas other than $800 in line X.I have mudflaps already.

J

i went bedliner 25 rock chips in my right door after 3 weeks with new tires now i don´t worry about it. i have seen guys run a set of mud flaps about 4 feet back from the front ones to get some of the rocks that go under the front flaps but it doesnñt look the best.

Nothing else will do if you are going to do hi speed gravel. My nerf bars came off after about 3 weeks, I had NO paint left and no rear bin liners. I did find that the Michelin LTX MS tires did not throw the rocks as bad as the Michelin LTX AT tires that came stock.

I never drive gravel my problem is our back lane to my heated shop is gravel and the rocks stick in the reads then at highway speed you can hear them letting go.

i find the same problem with my summer Dickcepek FCII. I just need to make sure that when i do drive on gravel-its a slow start when i get back on pavement-

It gives me ulcers thinking about the rocks flying off the tires-taking little chips of paint every time....

Sometimes I wish i still had a POS beater-something i didn't really care about. I wouldn't worry about soccer moms hitting my bumpers with their shopping carts, kids playin street hockey & denting my hood with their pucks, rocks sandblasting my rocker panels......

Greenworks, haven't you taken the new off the new ride yet?

I don't even think about it to much anymore. I more worry about the big boulders that fly off the semi's or oil field trucks, that just come onto the hiway.

The big flaps and bushwackers flares are the best way to stop rock chips. Of course that where the rust first starts at, so its one or the other.

You should go drive the truck off-hiway for 200-300km a day, week in/week out.
