I am buffalo'd
I'm working on an 05, right now, it was showing 100psi on a compression test, top ring was broke in two, second ring was broke in at least a dozen places, majority of the pieces of the ring were 3-5mm long!!!
funny thing is there were NO marks/scoring in the up down direction, nothing to indicate broken rings, until I pulled the piston out, hard to believe considering how busted up the rings were.
I kept the pieces and will try to snap a pic.

Kev, I was thinking about your issue abit tonight.
Can we get a build list of how the engine was built? The engine ran right prior to you buying it. With 100psi the engine should still run. The piston rings are pressed into cylinder walls by using cylinder pressure. I bet once the engine is warm, you'll get decent compression. At least hopefully.
What 6.7 sensors you using if any? Which 5.9L sensors you using. You using the injector harness/bridge from a 5.9L or a 6.7L engine.
You using the 6.7L tone ring on the harmonic balancer?

Hi Mike, I have tried to let it warm up before, didnt seem to make much difference. Never did try to build boost with it to be honest. I am running all 5.9 sensors and harness. It is the 6.7 tone ring and harmonic balancer

Don't let it beat you Kevin. Keep working it until you figure out what's up...
It's unfortunate that you didn't live closer to the sharp diesel guys here in Calgary.
I'm sure the Holmen/Tate/Brent/etc gang would have it humming in no time.

Yeah it would be nice Joe. I will win though, I am fairly confident that I am now on the winning end of it. I am going to go through everything with a fine tooth comb as I put it back together.
Mike, they are not very close at all

We hooked up noids, there is definately signal getting to the injectors, and there is lots of fuel in the holes. No you cant put on a 5.9 balancer. I have already pulled the head, so a little late for diagnostic software,, lol
