The road is always in pretty good condition.. some small problem areas in the marianna lakes area, but nothing impassable or anything like that.. just stupid drivers sometimes is all

It usually only gets shut down when accidents happen, then 881 is the alternate route. I've never had much issue with it in regular winter conditions in the few trips I've made. I did drive home in a blizzard once in the dually from there. Took an extra two hours, but I managed about 21 mpg. My sister did put her truck in the ditch going up there though, but bald tires and black ice will do that.

We had rain at one point last Feb & it froze quick , the road was a sheet of ice for about 10 days , the road crews stopped sand/salt further north . Caught a lot of people off guard , saw a rolled vehicle virtually every pass I made 2-4 / day . the road was clear just iced

Usually the road is nice. The people driving on it leave something to be desired though. You see lots of dumb things happen. Way too much speed and impatient people. I used to go to Marianna and back daily for several years and most accidents I seen were a result of poor driving. Oh well, winters coming. Should see some dumbasses get in accidents! Would be funny except for the fact that it's usually the innocent person in the other lane that gets hurt or killed!
