Bouncing ride on the Hwy in 03 Ram

Quick question. I have a 03 4x4 longbed 4dr CTD. When I drive on the slated highways in L.A. My truck bounces like crazy. I think the problem is that the wheel base is the exact same distance apart as the Fwy slates. Is there anything to lesson the bounce?

Thanks

Tire pressure is normal. I love the truck besides the bounce and having to deal with Califonia 235 H.P. 465TG Motor. So far i put a 4' exhaust system and a magnum Force AFI air filter system on it. Better power without the Cat coverter but only average about 16mpg????? I think LA traffic has a lot to do with that. I thought about new shocks but I don't think that will help much. Thanks

Shocks may help, there is a difference between bounce and rough. If there is bounce the shocks will help. Tie a couple of hundred pounds all the way at the rear of the bed and that will help the most.

I installed Rancho 9000's on mine and it made a difference. Run them empty on a 3 setting in front and a 2 in back.

What are the part numbers for the Rancho 9000's? I have called a couple of parts stores and they advise me that they don't have any ranchos for the 03. They also told me that the 03 suspension is different than 94-02 so shocks for those years will not fit the 03.

??????????????????

Re:Bouncing ride on the Hwy in 03 Ram

When I first wanted Rancho's for my truck I was told that they did not have any for the '03's. Tried again a month later and they checked again and said that shocks from a 94-98 Dodge and a 99-01 Chevy were the same. So I bought 99197 and 99269 shocks and so far they seem to work just fine. There is about a half inch difference in travel compared to the OEM shocks but I can't feel it.

I agree with Mexstan. The Rancho 9000's are the way to go. When I vistied my in-laws in LA, I hated the rough highways down there >. I decided to soften the settings one day and made a heck of a difference. Didn't get rid of it totaly due to the stiff springs but made it a lot better.

There's a pair of Rancho RS9000x, part # RS99197, front shocks on eBay right now. Brand New. No reserve. Looks like a good deal.

Click here to see Rancho shocks on eBay
