Dave----carry a 1-2 gallon compressed air tank+line with a air chuck in your toolbox("Princess Auto----CHEAP").Fill with air and air up as needed------the bags do not take take much air to fill---i used to set mine at 15-20PSI towing my 7K tavel trailer---worked great at that setting for me.This is how i set up my Grover air horns now for less than $50.00 bucks,i run a 5 gallon tank with a line from my toolbox to the front where the horns are,line/tank/ solenoid/switch.My tank will hold 130PSI and my horns draw about 1 PSI per second of use, usually only fill 1-2 times a year cause these baby are 150DB+,i usually forget to use most of the time but they are nice to wake-up the "Idiots" out there..I really did not want to have to worry about a compressor when i did this before my exhaust brake but i have one for my brake so i could tap off of that too if needed in the future. My 2 cents, hope this helps. Dave you could just go buy one of those little 12volt compressors from Cdn Tire. Run two lines to your airbags, with both having a checkvalve along with a bleed down valve on each line (PA has those aircompressor ones) install two gauges PA also has these, then hard wire in the compressor under the hood, with a switch inside the cab and then fill or release the air.

I am to cheap to buy airbags but this is what I am going to do when the time comes. All the parts is probelly under $50 if you hit PA and Cdn Tire on sale days.

Yeah, I bought a steering shaft from Harry on the May long weekend.

It turned out that I was going down there, and so I emailed him to see if there was anyway I could make arrangements to pick it up, and Harry said sure call me when you are in town and I will come open the shop for you.

Now that is service, how many vendors will even help you 5min after 5pm, let alone on a long weekend.

I figured that i'm just going to bit the bullet and buy some airbags. Looking at Peaks site, I can only see ones that go axle tube to frame? Does he sell the ones that go from the leafs to frame? I have 4" lift on the rear so the others are no good to me, and why my Timbrens are completly useless, and just to much work to bother modifiying them to work.

I don't like my truck looking like this again this winter, though with this load my timbrens almost became usefull again

My firestones are on the springs, not sure how they would fit on a 3rd gen.I would talk to the guys at Standens since they install them all the time.

How about close to $150 cheaper than here in oil rich Calgary.

So far the PacBrake air bags are great...

My math is pretty bad. I priced them out here in Red Deer and cost is about $400. That is a nice savings. Even the girlfriend agrees we should get a set for the truck after having the truck camper in. she was a little high in the front. Did you install them yourself? How hard was it?

i installed a set on my dad's '08. it was a piece of cake, no issues at all. your '05 should be the same - according to the guys at standen's, the 3rd gen dodges are the easiest truck to install them on.

dave, how was the install on the bags for us 2nd gen guys. i have been wanting a pair for a while, but holding off until i have the time to install them.

is it right that firestone offers two different setups for the 2nd gens?

The Pacbrake air bags are also easy to install, but they take a little more time to install because you have to drill 4 holes in the frame for the upper bracket.I heard the Firestones don't require drilling holes...The quality of the PacBrake is very well designed...I'm not sure of the two setup designs for the Firestones...

Good to hear they are easy! Anything i've been doing lately to my truck everything has gone wrong. Fricking replaced the shocks 5 times and they are still wrong

If FGI has Firestones ride rites for $263, is anyone any better then that? Any brand is good for me, they just have to go between the frame and springs.

Yea I cannot stand nose high. I've got 6/4 lift and it is like exactly level, ANYTHING in the back and it's lower in the rear, with the deck on last winter, it was down about 4" in the rear, so sitting at stock height, vs 6 front. Still handles fine, but looks so terrible, and scared of getting pulled over.
