Dirty Harry

So got to thinking, mind wondering spell and wondered. You know Dirty Harry carried the "44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and it'll take your head.....clean off". In one of the movies, it may have been the first, not sure he was target shooting on a piece of plate steel and the other guy pulled up and was walking up with a gun. Harry drew on him and it turns out dude was Harry's friend.

Now the question, Harry pulled out another hand bazooka out of a case, it was a semi auto, what was that pistol??

when properly used it can remove the finger prints..............

CALLAHAN: (After watching Horace at target practice) Not bad.

HORACE: Not bad, my butt(edited). You've got to strain the remains for the fingerprints.

CALLAHAN: Well this is the .44 Magnum Auto-Mag. It holds a 300-grain cartridge. And if properly used, it can remove the fingerprints.

That was good. The good ol' dirty Harry movies. 300 grain bullet, yikes. I guess the new S&W 500 is the big dog on the block now though

Auto-Mag was 'the pistol' back then. And expensive too.

That would be 'Wildey' Mag(but very close!). They were a different pistol than Auto Mag. Charles Bronson had a Wildey Mag chambered .475 in 'Death Wish' ump-teen whatever number. I think DW 3. Other notable auto-Mags were Grizzly Win-Mag's and Desert Eagle 44's and .50 AE(Action Express). Them was some bad-boy guns there now, but mostly popular for showboating and movie props. :-)

youtube link to Wildey .475 video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU7r36hVMiE

LOL!! Along about 4min spot, the narrator says "...you only need one Wildey to do the job of 2 or 3 other guns...". THAT would be the all-time greatest understatement I've ever heard!!

.475 Pistol!! Holy smokes, 50 cals, man, you need some money to shoot those suckers. I saw a guy buying one of those S&W 500's the other day, good for stopping bear, moose, trains....... I guess it would be interesting to shoot once for the holy poop factor, but after that I'm not to sure.
